Wetland Project

Wetlands and Springs were once a feature of the Sandbelt region. The majority have long been drained or capped.

We recreated a wetland from an old dam that didn't hold water to highlight wetland plant species, and to provide habitat for aquatic animals.

Reshaping old dam to provide gently sloping edges and a variety of depths.

Line with dam liner and cover with top soil.

Plant carefully into top soil and let nature take its course.

Follow up plantings to increase species diversity.
